Solicitor hailed as top young woman in Asian awards

A 26-year-old solicitor has been named young achiever of the year at the annual Asian Women in Achievement awards.

Since she qualified two years ago, Preeya Khoorbhoor, a partner and head of the matrimonial team at three-partner Kent firm Cattermoles, has tripled the matrimonial department's client base and revenue.

The judging panel described her as an 'outstanding young lawyer who demonstrates tremendous understanding and empathy with her clients...

her deeply held principles tinged with sound realism are apparent at all times'.

Ms Khoorbhoor said: 'I don't see this award as a personal achievement so much as something which I hope will inspire other Asian women - if I can do it, then they can too.'
