I recently received three pieces of paper from the Law Society in the same day: voting papers for a member of its council for commercial property constituency, for the civil litigation constituency and the residential conveyancing constituency.

Three envelopes where one would do. Three postages where one would do. This is not the first time that I have had this.


With 90,000 solicitors, one is looking at an £18,000 cost of sending out each mailshot; can we really afford to throw away £36,000?
