Joyce Glasser need have no fear (see 2003 Gazette, 11 September, 15).
The Young Solicitors Group (YSG), since we changed our constitution in June, represents all employee solicitors with up to 10 years' experience and who are not partners; it may be that the name 'Young Solicitors Group' is something of a misnomer.
Our aim is to fight for the junior element of the profession and, disappointingly, the need for that battle seems to increase.
That said, I agree that with her nonplussed reaction to the lack of representation in the Law Society.
Unless and until younger solicitors and trainees are welcomed into Chancery Lane with open arms, the Law Society may have only itself to blame for the consequences.
