Take it to the bridge
Metaphors are the theme of this week, with bridges especially hot in the public relations world right now.
After mobile phone operator Orange and Birmingham law firm Putsman.wlc (see [2003] Gazette, 9 May, 14), we have another from Black Country solicitors Waldrons (right).
An internal restructuring has led to the consolidation of the firm's company and commercial expertise into a division called Waldrons Commercial, and here we have some of the lawyers involved 'bridging the gap' (between City firms and the rest).
Pictured from left are Peter Waldron, David Edwards, Jonathan Day, Stephen Green and Natalie Gennard.
Meanwhile, at Kidderminster firm DWT, legal executive and keen euphonium player Debbie Fowler (left) has taken over the family department.
Ms Fowler is determined to link her work with her play to impress on us how everything she does works towards amicable divorces: 'I know quite a few lawyers who are also musicians - I think it links the analytical, intuitive, listening and creative skills needed by both disciplines,' she said.
'I've settled many a case through listening, finding out what my client really wants at the end of their relationship and then negotiating - bringing harmony from disharmony.'
