The Gazette's IT coverage is now in its rightful place in our new management section.
Look for broader and more practical coverage from now on, including regular pieces by legal IT commentators, suppliers, academics, and experts on subjects such as disclosure, Web technology, e-conveyancing, security, client relationship management and forensics.
The new-look commentary section is kicked off this week by the Law Society's own IT policy adviser, Timothy Hill, who writes about government plans for shared services. We have also included a kit review of three of the latest mobile devices.
There will also be room for more interaction. In future we will be running pithy explanations to words and concepts in IT that everyone uses, but no one understands, such as metadata, business intelligence and XML. We want you to tell us what concepts or words you think people need explained.
If you feel you have something that you understand or an experience with IT in the legal world that others should know about, e-mail: rupert.white@lawsociety.org.uk.
