Three Surrey firms merge to create biggest in area

Three Surrey law firms are to merge, creating what they claim will be the largest law firm in the area.The tripartite merger will take in 14-partner Tuck & Mann, with offices in Epsom, Leatherhead and Guildford, 12-partner Wilkinsons based in Leatherhead and Cranleigh, and nine-partner Triggs Turner Bartons, also based in Guildford.The 35-partner merged firm of Triggs Wilkinson Mann will commence on the 28 July with a staff of around 100 fee-earners and support staff.Wilkinsons partner David Bagnall, who will become joint senior partner, said there is a 'great deal of business activity' in the area which creates a great demand for corporate and tax work.

He said the the newly merged firm will be in aposition to develop work in the commercial and employment fields to satisfy that local demand.Wilkinsons partner Patrick Stewart, who will be managing partner, said the merger will enable the three firms to pool their strengths to create better resourced, more specialised departments with a broader client base.

The amalgamation will also enable a greater investment in technology to be made, he added.
