Paul Jenkins, permanent secretary at the Treasury Solicitor’s Office (TSol), added his signature to the Law Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter last week.

TSol, the UK’s largest in-house legal department, is the 400th signatory to the charter and the first government department on the list. Jenkins said: ‘Diversity and inclusion is a priority for us. We cannot reasonably advise on legislation and laws that directly affect people if we are not representative of those people.’

He was joined by Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, chair of the Law Society’s Equality and Diversity Committee and former president of the Society.
