Andrew Twambley, managing partner of Manchester-based personal injury firm Amelans, which runs the marketing group Injury Lawyers4U, was appointed chairman of the Claims Standards Council (CSC) this week. The 11-strong executive team also includes Darren Werth, managing director of Accident Advice Helpline, Owen Burrows of BOE/Asyst and James Malloy, head of AA Law. The CSC will be advising the government on the implementation of claims management regulation under the Compensation Act 2006, which will also apply to marketing organisations such as Injury Lawyers4U. Mr Twambley said: 'We want to cut out dodgy practices by claims managers. They are never going to be banned, but we want some say in how the Act is implemented.'
