UK Lawyers Online forms alliance with US namesake

The legal-dedicated Internet service provider, Lawyers Online, has formed a 'strategic alliance' with the US owner of the domain name lawyersonline.com.

The deal means the two sites will pool marketing and services with the ultimate aim of creating a 'global brand'.

UK Lawyers Online offers Internet access, CPD, Web-based e-mail, Web design and freelawyer, an online legal advice service.

In contrast, the US Lawyers Online site, owned by New York real estate agent Peter Zachery, currently functions only as a business-to-client directory of legal services.

UK spokesman Alan Tomlinson said his company would benefit from Mr Zachery's ownership of the lawyersonline domain name in several countries, enabling development of lawyersonline worldwide'.
