For a man who walks the corridors of footballing power with impressive tact and discretion, Manchester United director Maurice Watkins (left) - also senior partner of local law firm James Chapman & Co - likes getting his picture in Obiter.

Over the years, we have run pictures of Mr Watkins wrapping up another multi-million pound transfer or deal, and mugging happily alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand, Seba Veron and Diego Forln (actually, Rio had better watch out, given that Veron and Becks have been shown the door this summer, while Forln was also the subject of transfer speculation).

Before this week's signings of Kleberson and Cristiano Ronaldo, Mr Watkins had to make do with American goalkeeper Tim Howard.

James Chapman solicitor Matthew Bennett - who assisted Mr Watkins on this deal as well as those for David Bellion and Eric Djemba-Djemba - is apparently not important enough to warrant a seat, but should be happy he's in the picture at all, along with group managing director David Gill.
