I am amazed at Ben Edie's logic in his letter (see [2005] Gazette, 10 February, 16). He accepts that only 26% of initial offers are accepted. That means that 74% are not and were therefore unreasonable even in the present climate where most claimants are legally advised.


If they are no longer advised, does he really believe that that percentage will not increase.
