When Talk is Cheap

The comment made by Co-Operative Legal Services managing director Eddie Ryan about the profession and his company's entry into the legal market is a modern-day version of the emperor's new clothes (see [2007] Gazette, 15 February, 22). If I want to buy a loaf of bread I do not go to Dixons. If I need legal advice I do not go to the Co-Op. Strange that.

Consumers may benefit from being sold cheap services but in life you get what you pay for. I am off to British Gas to get the tyres changed on the Jag.
