Last week, Obiter reported on the efforts of City firm Norton Rose in plugging its involvement in the Heineken European rugby cup, on which it spent a reported 1 million.

But Leicester firm Harvey Ingram Owston has sneaked into a small share of the limelight on the cheap.

The firm hosted a business dinner, entitled 'winning legally', at Leicester Tigers rugby club, where former international rugby referee Ed Morrison was guest speaker.

Leicester players Austin Healey and Tim Stimpson (right) were there with their cups, including the European Cup, to the pleasure of senior partner Stephen Woolfe (left) and Brian Goddard (centre) of the East Midlands Development Agency.
