Magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is among four major new clients for DespatchBox's DDX e-mail encryption service.

National firm Pinsents, London media practice Olswang and north-west firm DWF are the others.

DespatchBox says DDX facilitates the exchange of confidential e-mails with clients in a controlled, secure and audited environment, and negates the need for software to be installed by the recipients.

Existing DDX user Jan Durant, head of IT at City firm Lewis Silkin, said there was an increasing trend of invitations to tender for work including a stipulation that e-mail encryption be a prerequisite.

Barnsley firm Raleys - well known for its work for miners - has selected Legato's EmailXtender e-mail storage and retrieval solution after receiving advice from Scentra Consulting.

City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner is to pilot nFlow Software's DictaFlow digital dictation package.

It will be tested by 28 users in the firm's real estate team.

If successful, it will be rolled out to all 650 users later this year.

Manchester's Pannone & Partners has rolled out SRC's WinScribe digital dictation system to 400 staff after a successful pilot in the 120-strong personal injury team.

Meanwhile, the Corporation of London is piloting WinScribe for its 18-strong legal department.

Eclipse Legal Systems has announced seven new law firms users of its ProCLAIM personal injury case management system: AD Varley & Co (Preston), A2 Accident Solicitors (Preston), Geoffrey Lucas & Co (Urmston), Jones Robertson (Knutsford), Knowles & Co (Manchester), Savas & Savage (Ellesmere Port) and Wrigley Claydon (Todmorden).

A double win for AIM Professional Solutions, after well-known London legal aid firm Steel & Shamash and Coventry City Council's legal services department both signed up to its Evolution case management and time recording software.
