London firm Finers Stephens Innocent has adopted the Aventail SSL VPN remote access system, allowing its lawyers to work securely at home or when travelling across the world. The system provides granular control, meaning that staff can obtain secure access to the right information and application.

City firm Ashurst has adopted a performance management initiative devised by consultancy Blueprint Performance Management using the Business Objects XI software suite. The system will provide the firm with better visibility of its clients, their matters, and the billing process.


Cheltenham-based media firm Wiggin has selected Thomson Elite's Out of the Box to improve its financial management. Out of the Box includes standard protocols such as a chart of accounts, financial and practice management reports, and bill templates, as well as standard workflow forms and an e-mail notification system. Wiggin will also implement the Elite Marketing Manager customer relationship management (CRM) solution.


London firm Olswang has upgraded to InterAction 5.1 following a review of CRM systems. The latest version includes Watch List, which alerts fee-earners when important meetings, telephone calls or other events occur with clients or prospective clients.


Regional firm Bond Pearce has chosen FloSuite for its business process management. The system will be integrated with the firm's CMS.NET practice management system, Interwoven WorkSite document management system and InterAction CRM system.


Ten firms have signed up to BigHand's digital dictation system: Coles Miller in Poole, Avon-based Davies & Partners, Hancock Caffin in Cornwall, Torquay firms Hooper & Wollen and Kitson Hutchings, Metcalfes in Bristol, Bath-based firms Mogers and Mowbray Woodwards, Over Taylor Biggs in Exeter, and Weymouth firm Pengillys.
