Parcel delivery: US firm Weil Gotshal & Manges advised UK parcel service Home Delivery Network on acquiring DHL Domestic, the UK business of parcel delivery company DHL, from Deutsche Post DHL. The combined business will have annual sales of £600m. Magic circle firm Linklaters advised Deutsche Post DHL.
Lend assistance: Magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, alongside Nordic and Baltic firm Roschier, advised mineral wool insulation company Paroc on a debt-for-equity swap with its lenders, which will see debt fall from €750m (673m) to €450m (£404m). Magic circle firm Linklaters advised the lenders.
Science lesson: City firm Olswang advised life sciences group Genetix on its proposed £63m takeover by manufacturing and technology company Danaher Corporation, which was advised by US firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
Solar power: Magic circle firm Clifford Chance advised Thai bank Kasikornbank on financing Thailand’s THB700m (£13m) utility scale solar power project, which is sponsored by the government-run Solar Power Company.
Passing go: Birmingham firm Wragge & Co advised Community Lighting Partnership, a consortium of property investors Telereal Trillium and consulting engineers Pell Frischmann, on a £30m private finance initiative deal to replace and maintain more than 16,000 street lights and 100 traffic signal junctions in Blackpool. National firm Pinsent Masons advised Blackpool Council.
