I would like to offer some good news to Peter Fowler, whose wish list for conveyancing reform included a review of water search systems (see [2007] Gazette, 14 June, 17).
The water companies of England and Wales have been working cooperatively with the Law Society, Department for Communities and Local Government, and the Council of Mortgage Lenders in order to ensure that the questions answered in the CON29DW Drainage & Water report are those required to give the consumer maximum confidence in their prospective purchase.
I can also reassure Mr Fowler that all of the water companies now accept online orders and are able to deliver our reports electronically.
