Warsaw bonds: Magic circle firm Allen & Overy advised the city of Warsaw (pictured) on a €1.3bn (£1.2bn) debt issuance programme, which will allow the city to issue bonds for the first time since the Second World War.
Big in Japan: Magic circle firm Freshfields advised financial services firm Morgan Stanley on a joint venture between Morgan Stanley Japan Securities and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities. The venture will be Japan’s third largest brokerage by revenue. Mitsubishi was advised by US firm Sullivan & Cromwell.
Turkish campus: National firm DLA Piper, alongside Istanbul firm Actecon, advised the Turkish Ministry of Health on a public-private partnership deal to create the €250m Kayseri Integrated Health Campus. The firm expects to work on three further projects in 2009, with all four projects worth €1bn combined.
Data acquisition: City firm Nabarro advised Electronic Data Systems (EDS) on acquiring two data centres in Norwich from insurer Aviva. EDS will manage the data centres under a 10-year, $1bn (£700m) service contract. Aviva was advised by magic circle firm Clifford Chance and its in-house team.
Digital TV: City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse advised DTT Multiplex Operators, a consortium of digital television operators, on a deal with Siemens IT Solutions and Services Limited to supply TV data services. Siemens was represented by its in-house team.
Energy double: City firm Watson, Farley & Williams advised DONG Energy on acquiring the £600m Severn gas-fired power station project in Wales, and engineering consultancy Carron Engineering & Construction, from Welsh Power Group.
