Worthy fellows

Gordon Ross perpetuates the myth regarding the 'fusion of the two branches of the legal profession...barristers and solicitors' (see [2002] Gazette, 21 February, 18).

The Institute of Legal Executives would surely beg to differ.

Fellows of the institute consider themselves to be qualified lawyers and the third branch of the profession.

It is a pity they still have to fight for the recognition they deserve from their brothers in law.
