Singer Beenie Man must have been delighted when he gained the title of Best Reggae Artist at the recent Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards held at Alexandra Palace in London.

But the icing would have been put on his cake when Davenport Lyons' partner Jay Quatrini - who acted for Mr Man in contract negotiations - sent out a press release saying he saw the award as 'a great achievement and, with impressive worldwide sales of his current album, a clear demonstration of Beenie Man's growing global reputation'.

Sometimes you really get the idea that solicitors would rather be doing something else - pop star manager perhaps?
