Alas, the London Legal Walk, the biggest meet-up of the legal year, was an early casualty of the pandemic: it’s been postponed to 5 October. But organiser the London Legal Support Trust is undaunted: it is marking the original walk date of 8 June with a suitably alert alternative: the 10,000 Steps for Justice. Participants and teams are asked to complete 10,000 steps at home or in their gardens, neighbourhoods, or local parks.

Over 2,000 walkers have already registered to take part. Families and four-legged fundraisers are welcome to join the fun too, with participants making the most of technology to connect with their teammates, as well as sharing their steps using the #10kStepsForJustice hashtag.

The event is endorsed by none other than the lord chief justice, who says it is ‘a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and support the advice agencies, as well as an ideal chance to connect with peers and colleagues’.
