What do HG Wells, David Bowie, Julie Andrews, Dina Asher-Smith and Emma Raducanu have in common? Not only do they have a connection to south-east town (and London borough) Bromley, but law firm Thackray Williams has named meeting rooms at its new Bromley office after them. ‘The old office used to have board rooms 1, 2, 3, 4. With the new office, we thought we would have a theme and themed it on famous people who have a connection to Bromley,’ managing partner Sean Sanders explained. ‘Rather than say “Go to Room 2, it’s nice to say you’re in the Raducanu Room”.’

Are any other firms commemorating local heroes in this way? Obiter would love to know.
