Well done to the comrades at Matrix Chambers for joining forces with trade union Unison to run a seminar on 10 July on workplace and trade union issues.

‘Unison has been at the forefront of the struggle to protect workers rights,’ intoned head of legal Adam Creme in the promotional flier. Sessions aimed to equip attenders to fight ‘the rolling back of hard-fought-for laws granting basic employment entitlements and access to justice for workers’.

Alas for the workers, Matrix said last week that the event has been shelved ‘due to industrial action taking place on 10 July’. And who is leading the local government strike on that date? Er, Unison.
