After a new job? Fix the interview for a Wednesday lunchtime is the advice from a recruitment consultant.
Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment says that data from its last 1,000 interviews showed that 36% of successful candidates had interviewed on a Wednesday, compared with 30% on a Friday, 18% on a Tuesday, and only 9% and 7% on a Thursday and Monday respectively. Obiter isn’t sure what to make of that, but is encouraged by the finding that the gung-ho practice of interviewing out of hours doesn’t produce results.
According to the survey, 34% of its successful candidates interviewed over lunchtime, compared with only 7% before work and 9% after work.
