Partners

It is not just the US-based firms that are growing rapidly in the City.


French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel has recruited tax specialist Anthony Davis as a partner in its London office. He previously headed the London tax practice of US firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft.


The London office of US firm Hunton & Williams has hired Jonathan Marsh, who was partner and head of the financial services and markets group at national firm Hammonds.



J Warden McKimm has been promoted to partner in the capital markets practice in the London office of US firm Shearman & Sterling.



Naomi Goode, formerly a partner at niche housing practice Jenkins & Hand, has joined the property department at City firm Lewis Silkin.



Uxbridge firm Iliffes Booth Bennett has hired Jan Galloway, previously with Mowll & Mowll in Dover, for its family team.



Pensions specialist Heather Chandler leaves City firm Ashurst to join the Milton Keynes office of Shoosmiths.



Cobbetts’ Birmingham office has also strengthened its pensions team with the arrival of Helen Davies-Williams from the local office of Hammonds.



Company and commercial specialist Hilary Ripalo joins Ansons in Cannock from Oldham Rust Jobson in Stafford.



To Manchester, where Nigel Proctor joins the finance and projects group at Addleshaw Goddard from Hammonds.



Manchester firm Pannone & Partners has strengthened its personal injury department with the arrival of Patrick Walsh from John Pickering & Partners in Halifax.



Kate Banerjee and John Jackson leave Walker Morris in Leeds to join the divorce and family law team at Jones Myers Partnership.

Associates/Assistants


Two new associates for the London office of US firm Steptoe & Johnson: contentious insurance specialist Andrew Schütte moves from City firm DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, while Sakina Rizvi, previously at City firm CMS Cameron McKenna, joins the international dispute resolution group.



The London office of US firm White & Case has hired senior associate Nicholas Greenacre for its employee benefits and pensions team; he moves from US firm McDermott Will & Emery.



Mehboob Dossa joins Grundberg Mocatta Rakison as an associate in the corporate/ commercial team from London firm Atlantic Law.


Commercial property assistant solicitor Faisal Nisar moves to Boodle Hatfield from the London office of Osborne Clarke.



Anthony Pownall moves to Lamport Bassitt in Southampton as assistant solicitor in the personal injury team from Dorset firm Coles Miller, where he was a partner.



Cheltenham-based corporate media firm Wiggin & Co has strengthened its media litigation practice with the hire of Amali de Silva from London firm Olswang as a senior assistant.



In Bristol, company/ commercial assistant solicitor Tim Summers leaves Burges Salmon for Gregg Latchams Quinn.



Robin Broughton leaves the Birmingham office of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary to join the Milton Keynes office of Howes Percival as director of employment.



Neil Malone has become an assistant solicitor in the commercial and corporate department of Coventry firm Band Hatton, after qualifying at Walsall firm CMHT.



Janet Spence has joined Rees Jones in Stoke-on-Trent as an associate in the licensing and personal injury teams, moving from local firm Heatons.



In Manchester, Gary Herbert joins Fentons as an assistant solicitor in the personal injury team from Irwin Mitchell in Leeds. Edward Adams also joins as an assistant, having previously been at The Dental Law Partnership in Nantwich.

Other



Two new consultants for City firm Stephenson Harwood: Bilal Aquil, previously in-house at Credit Lyonnais, joins as head of Islamic finance, while John Roebuck moves to the commercial litigation team after running his own property development business and acting part-time as group legal counsel of Aim Group.



Andrew Crouchman has joined the London office of Mills & Reeve as a consultant in the insurance team, moving from the City office of US firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
