has made its first partner hire in the UK following its transatlantic merger at the beginning of the year: Trevor Nicholls joins the construction and engineering team at the London office. He was formerly a partner at US/UK firm
Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.


Commercial property specialist Paul Dutch joins Courts & Co as a partner from Winckworth Sherwood, where he was an assistant.



Three new partners at south-east firm Thomas Eggar: commercial specialist Oliver Mayes is promoted, and Caroline Armitage and Gary Player join the corporate team from ASB Law in Crawley.



Owen Santry joins Coffin Mew & Clover in Southampton as partner and head of commercial services; he was previously a commercial partner at the local office of Trethowans.



Commercial property specialist Nicola Stapleton is promoted at Oxford firm Herbert Mallam Gowers.



In the midlands, Sarah White joins the healthcare team at Browne Jacobson in Birmingham from the local office of Bevan Brittan.



Moving north, Tim Annett joins the clinical negligence team at the Nantwich office of Poole Alcock from Altrincham firm Alexander Harris.



Personal injury specialist Sharon Weeks is promoted at Keoghs’ Bolton office.



Private finance initiative specialist Allison Page returns to the Leeds office of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary; she was previously at Masons.



Robert Stoker, former head of legal (promotions) in the Amsterdam office of sports goods manufacturer Adidas, moves to Ricksons’ Manchester office.





Associates/Assistants


Two associates join the international arbitration team at the London office of US firm Baker Botts: Isabelle Solal and Ania Farren move from the Paris office of US firm Shearman & Sterling.



Two new associates for the construction and engineering group at City firm Taylor Wessing: Tom Wrzesien moves from Winward Fearon, while Iain Murdoch joins from Speechly Bircham.



Justin Collins moves to Plexus Law’s property team as an assistant solicitor from Vizards Wyeth in Dartford.



Jonathan Durrant joins Pitmans in Reading as commercial litigation assistant from the Army’s legal services department.



Marc Chaudhuri joins Berkshire firm Dickins Hopgood Chidley as a family assistant from Salisbury firm Pye-Smiths.



On the south coast, Lester Aldridge promotes eight to associate. At the Bournemouth office: Paula Mason and Victoria Harding in the banking and finance team, Ann Corke and Victoria Jones in the tax trusts and wills team, and family specialist Claire Jennings. At the Southampton office: Matthew Barrow in the real estate team, corporate specialist James Hawkeswood and planning lawyer Nicola Raistrick.



Moving to the midlands, Browne Jacobson in Birmingham appoints Sarah Manning as a healthcare associate. She joins from the Leeds office of Eversheds.



Carlo Sereni joins Hacking Ashton in Newcastle-under-Lyme as a senior associate in the commercial property department from Lanyon Bowdler in Shropshire.



Awen Wright joins the Preston office of Forbes as a commercial property assistant from Brabners Chaffe Street in Manchester.



Christine Kett moves to the insurance litigation department of Lancashire transport firm Backhouse Jones as assistant from Manchester firm Branton Edwards.



The Bolton office of Keoghs promotes five to associate: Jane McLellan, Lee Kirton and Helen Cooper in the motor claims team, Ruth Gavin in the fraud team and Stephen Croston, who specialises in industrial disease claims. Felicity Fawcett joins the company and commercial team as an assistant from Preston firm Birchall Blackburn.



Two commercial property assistants join the Hull office of Rollits: Peter Mason from Hull firm Stamp Jackson & Procter, and Albert Oh, formerly a quantity surveyor. Susan Brad joins the private capital team after qualifying at Leeds firm Lee & Priestley.

Barrister Roderick Newton is appointed a circuit judge on the south-eastern circuit.

Mike Hinchliffe, deputy legal director of the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS), has been appointed to the family procedure rule committee.
