London firm
Farrer & Co kicks off this week’s promotions by making up seven: Kate Buchanan and Veryan Exelby (family), Robert Datnow and Serena Hedley-Dent (corporate), Christopher Belcher (heritage), Anna Gregory (employment) and James Price (disputes). The firm, which has also reappointed senior partner Robert Clinton to a second three-year term, now has 62 partners.

Elsewhere in the capital, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert promotes three: Christian Bartsch in the commercial and technology department, Andrew Howell in the professional liability and commercial litigation group, and Carmel Walsh in the reinsurance and international risk team. It has 81 partners worldwide following the appointments.


Peter Fisher joins Bird & Bird’s international tax group from Lovells, where he was a partner.


David Schollenberger joins the technology/IP team at Manches from Charles Russell.


Kendall Freeman promotes Simon Williams in its insurance, corporate and regulatory group.


Collyer-Bristow promotes Brazilian-qualified international commercial specialist Silvia Fazio.


Family practice Hughes Fowler Carruthers promotes Joe Vaitilingam and Renato Labi. It now has seven partners.


Colin Jaque and Anthony Simmons, both former partners at Lyndales, have joined the litigation and property departments respectively at David Wineman.


Wiseman Lee promotes Ruhul Ameen in the commercial department of its East Ham office.


Elizabeth Dolding joins the company commercial department of Kent firm Warners, following the dissolution of Farmar & Shirreff in Sevenoaks in April.


Regional firm Bond Pearce promotes five: Tom Beezer in the commercial litigation team and Tim Burbidge in the property department, both in the Southampton office; Richard Guyatt in the planning team at the Bristol office; Karen Morrish in the London office’s professional indemnity team; and David Skelton in the construction team in Plymouth. It now has 69 partners.


Barrie Hobbs joins the construction team at the Bristol office of Clarke Willmott from Bristol firm Laytons, where he was a partner; senior associate Ioan Prydderch and assistant Erica Garner move with him.


Christopher Agius moves from Laytons in Bristol to the Cardiff office of Leo Abse & Cohen as associate partner and head of commercial property.


Moving north, Manchester firm George Davies promotes three, making it a 15-partner practice: Zahra Siddiqui in the private client department, Ben Crouch in the residential property team and Paul Bibby in the commercial property team.


Roddy Macleod joins the personal injury practice at the Manchester office of Weightmans from local firm James Chapman & Co.


Richard Nolan joins the dispute management division at Leeds firm Lupton Fawcett from Gordons in Leeds, where he was a partner.

In London, Anna Brackenbury joins US firm Kilpatrick Stockton as associate in the intellectual property department from Simmons & Simmons.


Sean Williams joins Fortune Law as a corporate associate; he was previously at Fox Williams.


Reading firm Lawrence Hamblin promotes Matthew Claxson and Michael Pollard to associate in the personal injury department.


On the south coast, Coffin Mew & Clover promotes three to associate: in Southampton, employment specialist Dorlee Monschau and social housing lawyer Sarah Deighton, and in Portsmouth, clinical negligence specialist Carole Watts.


Carl Steele joins the intellectual property and sports law team at the Exeter office of south-west firm Ashfords as senior associate; he moves from Taylor Wessing in the City.


Sarah Clayton joins Cheshire firm Neil Myerson as a commercial property assistant from the Manchester office of Eversheds.


Paschal Kelly becomes an assistant in the personal injury department at Manchester firm Russell & Russell upon qualification with the firm.
