Partners – promotions



National firm Irwin Mitchell promotes seven across its offices, bringing its total number of partners to 94. They are: Demetrius Danas (international travel litigation); Guy Darlaston (asbestos disease); Tracey Storey (personal injury); Kevin Roberts (regulation and investigations); Sara Burns and Rachelle Mahapatra (clinical negligence); and Nick Goulding (transactions).



London firm Finers Stephens Innocent promotes four, bringing its total to 36. The new partners are: Sara Wax in the corporate team, Chris Allan and James Fry in the property team and Robert Lands in intellectual property and media.



City firm Kendall Freeman promotes commercial litigator James Maton; the firm now has 21 partners.



Niche London aviation firm Clark Ricketts promotes Vaughan Crossley, who becomes its third partner.



Kent firm Brachers promotes Marita Jones in its environment and planning team, bringing its total to 19.



In the west midlands George Green promotes David Lucas in the commercial property department. The firm now has ten partners.



Manchester firm Turner Parkinson promotes employment specialist Sarah Turner and matrimonial specialist Martin Karran – partners in subsidiary firm tp private client – to partners in the main firm, which brings its total to ten.





Partners – hires



Insolvency and corporate recovery specialist Marika Chalkiadis joins London firm Mishcon de Reya; she leaves Nabarro Nathanson, where she was a partner.



Tamara Box and Paul Severs strengthen Berwin Leighton Paisner’s securitisation practice. Ms Box was formerly a partner at Lovells and Mr Severs moves from FGIC UK and FGIC Credit Products, where he was head of legal and compliance.



Cardiff firm Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice recruits Rhian Howells from David & Snape in Bridgend.





New firm



Katy Manley, former head of professional negligence at Bristol-based Burroughs Day, leaves to start a new practice, Manley Turnbull.





Associates/Assistants



Celia Perry joins the property team at Croydon firm Ormerods from Thomas Eggar.



Kent firm Brachers promotes three to associate: Ashfaq Jilani in the property team, James Millis in dispute resolution and Nina Pantzaris in the family team.



West midlands firm George Green promotes Shilpa Unarkat to associate in commercial property. Heather MacKay joins the team as an assistant on qualification with the firm.



Birmingham firm Putsmans expands its tax, trusts and estates team with the appointment of Sabrina Maini from local firm Cartwright & Lewis.



In Manchester, Turner Parkinson promotes three to associate: Sarah Slater in the employment team, litigator David Reilly and matrimonial specialist Victoria Brandon.



Assistant Matthew Forrest joins Ricksons’ commercial litigation team in Preston from Eversheds.



Also in Preston, Napthens boosts its personal injury and litigation department by recruiting Jonathan Ormand and Zulfi Khan from Sawle & Co in Leyland.



Four new assistants for Leeds firm Zermansky & Partners: Christopher Preston from local firm Brooke Williams and Jane Hockless from Jordans in Dewsbury join the family department; Fiona Chantrey moves from Hempsons in Harrogate to head the litigation department; and Amandeep Bajwa joins the housing team from Manchester City Council.




OTHER



Jonathan Metliss leaves SJ Berwin, the City firm he helped found in 1982, to join Rosenblatt as a senior consultant.



Also in the City, Henry Frydenson becomes a consultant in the private banking team at Baker & McKenzie; he moves from Berwin Leighton Paisner.



Chris Nichols leaves Wiltshire firm Parker Bullen to become a consultant in the commercial property department at Salisbury firm Wilsons.
