Beginning in the City, Sally Shorthose joins Bird & Bird’s international life sciences group from Eversheds, where she headed the intellectual property and life sciences team.


City firm KSB Law takes on commercial litigator Andrew Cromby from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, while employment specialist Nathan Donaldson is promoted to partner.


Mishcon de Reya takes on Daniel Levy as head of property litigation from Eversheds.


Moving to Sussex, Esther Smith has been promoted to employment partner in Thomas Eggar’s Chichester office. Dawn Stallwood becomes a company and commercial partner in the Gatwick office.


In the midlands, Allison Carr has been promoted to junior equity partner in Keoghs’ Coventry defendant insurance litigation team.


In Shoosmiths’ Birmingham office, Geoff Perry joins the corporate and commercial team from Bevan Brittan.


Tania McGee (commercial property) and Mark Lister (wills, tax, trusts and probate) are promoted to the partnership at Hacking Ashton in Staffordshire. The firm now has ten partners.


MFG has promoted three partners in Worcestershire, Shropshire and the west midlands, bringing its total to 27. In Wellington, Sarah Baugh becomes a partner in the agricultural and rural affairs division, while in Halesowen, Sally Morris is promoted in the employment team and John Morgan in the company/commercial practice.


Moving north, Yorkshire firm Atteys has promoted six new partners across its offices in Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham and Mexborough: James Murray (commercial litigation), Sharon MacKie (family), Simon Alliott (commercial), Sonia Hume-Dawson (personal injury), Steve Taylor (industrial disease) and Victoria Maylard (matrimonial). Atteys now has 26 partners.




Associates/Assistants


Richard Clayton joins Halliwells’ City office from Simmons & Simmons to launch a national finance litigation and recovery team.


At Mishcon de Reya, Karen Milne joins the property team as a senior assistant solicitor from CMS Cameron McKenna in Prague.


Associate Jane Parker has joined the commercial property department at KSB Law’s St Albans office as an associate, moving from Kimbells in Milton Keynes.


Assistant solicitor Sarah Dineley moves to Thomas Eggar’s litigation team in Chichester. She was previously at White & Bowker in Winchester. Six are promoted to associate level across Thomas Eggar’s Chichester, Gatwick, Worthing and London offices: Alice Dixie and Garry Ramsden (commercial); Marcelle Turner and Sanjit Virdee (commercial property); Caroline Shelton (private client); and Lloyd Junor (private client litigation).


Moving west to Bristol, associate Louise Hunt will head the clinical negligence team at Bond Pearce, having moved from Alexander Harris, where she was a partner.


In south Devon, newly qualified solicitor Rima Bhattacharya moves to the commercial department at Kitson Hutchings in Torquay, having completed her training with Exeter firm Ford Simey.


Over in the midlands, family specialist Ann-Marie Bowman is promoted to associate at Rothera Dowson in Nottingham. In the Beeston office, assistant Beckie Marjoram joins the family team from Wake Smith in Sheffield.


At Hacking Ashton in Staffordshire, commercial litigator Larry Barker joins from AH Brooks & Co in Leek.


Andrew Davies (residential conveyancing) and Shakeel Ahmed (crime) have been promoted to associates at MFG’s Telford office.


In Bolton, five are promoted to associate at Keoghs: Rose Dickinson and Neil Southern (catastrophic injury); Deborah Kelly (defendant road traffic accident); Caroline Melody (special claims); and Catherine Woolham (fast-track motor claims).


At John Howe & Co in Leeds, assistant solicitor Stephen Donkin joins from Bambridges in Boston. He will work in the civil and commercial litigation, personal injury and employment teams.


Also in Leeds, employment assistant Simon Brian has joined Walker Morris from Clarke Willmott.


To Sheffield, where commercial solicitor Tony Wilkinson joins Taylor & Emmet from Richmonds in Doncaster.

At City firm KSB Law, Peter Crane joins as a family consultant from Horsey Lightly Fynn, while Richard Bretherton takes on a consulting role in the corporate team, having left BPE.

Energy efficiency provider Eaga Group has taken on Chris Judd as group solicitor from Shaw & Co in Newcastle.


Matt Richardson has moved to Pinewood Shepperton as legal counsel from Viasat Broadcasting.
