In London, one of the highest-profile moves of the month sees Simon Gleeson join Clifford Chance’s financial institutions regulatory practice; he moves from Allen & Overy, where he was a partner.


CMS Cameron McKenna boosts its pensions practice with the arrival of partner Neil Smith, who rejoins the firm from Taylor Wessing.


Nabarro Nathanson has recruited four partners. Alternative Investment Market specialists Ian Binnie and Elliot Shear join the London office from McGrigors and Baker & McKenzie respectively. Ben Hendry moves from Geldards’ Derby office to join the corporate team in Sheffield. Construction and engineering specialist Ian Radford also goes to Sheffield from Pinsent Masons’ Manchester office.


West Midlands firm Sydney Mitchell recruits Kamal Majedavia to its commercial litigation department in Birmingham. He leaves local firm Ansons.


Hill Dickinson’s Manchester office hires Jane O’Sullivan as a corporate partner from Beachcroft.




Management


Nottingham firm Berryman has elected employment partner James Jarvis as its next managing partner. He succeeds Andy Matthews, who steps down after two terms in the post and will become a consultant to law firms and property businesses.

London firm Beale & Company promotes construction litigator Simon Arnold and corporate specialist James Hutchinson to associate.


Associate Robert Darwin bolsters the corporate group at US/UK firm Faegre & Benson in London. He moves from Slaughter and May.


Three assistants for Howard Kennedy: Nessa McGill bolsters the media and entertainment from Irish firm A&L Goodbody, Maria Hernandez-Garcia moves to the project and trade finance team from the London office of Spanish firm Scornik Gerstein, and Beena Amin, formerly of Gepp & Sons in Chelmsford, joins the commercial property department.


Assistant Dorothy Agnew moves to the commercial services team at Moore & Blatch in Southampton from the local office of Bond Pearce.


Julie Temple joins specialist employment firm Quantrills in Ipswich from the Norwich office of Howes Percival.


Private client solicitor Ben Sharp joins Needham & James in Stratford-upon-Avon from Coventry firm Penmans.


Sophy Macmillan moves to the corporate team at Keelys in Lichfield from Kent firm Stephens & Son.


Cradley Heath and Halesowen firm George Green hires commercial specialist Howard James as an associate from Coventry firm Newsome Vaughan.


To the north west, where Cheshire-based practice the Dental Law Partnership appoints Shazia Akram as assistant solicitor. She was previously training with Raleys in Barnsley.


Wirral and Chester firm Lees & Partners recruits senior associate Jo-Anne Lomax from Merseyside practice Canter Levin & Berg. She joins the family law team.


DWF recruits associate solicitor Emma Gaudern from Irwin Mitchell to head its private client department in Manchester.


Nexus hires assistant solicitor Craig McCracken for its Manchester employment team. He was previously at local firm Wacks Caller.


Brabners Chaffe Street recruits two newly-qualified solicitors: Jo Mills joins its Manchester property department from Walker Morris in Leeds, and Melanie Ball bolsters its Liverpool corporate department from Forbes in Preston.


Patrick Keown becomes a banking associate at Hill Dickinson in Manchester, leaving Addleshaw Goddard.


Criminal law specialist Carl Codd joins Myer Wolff in Hull, having previously worked at the Ringrose Law Group.


Lisa Pitts is hired by the Newcastle office of Irwin Mitchell as an assistant, specialising in public law and human rights. She leaves London firm Fisher Meredith.
