Clifford Chance welcomes back Greg Olson, who rejoins the European competition and regulation group from Jones Day, where he was a partner and leader of the London competition practice.
Jones Day boosts its banking and finance group with Michael Pabst from Mayer Brown.
Anna Rabin, who is responsible for the construction and engineering practice group, is promoted at Jeffrey Green Russell.
Asset finance specialist Stephen Marais joins DLA Piper’s finance and projects group from Denton Wilde Sapte.
Holman Fenwick & Willan recruits aviation specialist David Relf from Stephenson Harwood. The firm has also elected four partners at its London office – Ruth Allcoat (ship finance), Toby Stephens (litigation), Kapil Dhir and Alistair Feeney (trade and energy).
Insurance law specialist Davies Lavery appoints two to the firm. John Groome joins the insurance/reinsurance team at the London office from Halliwells. And professional indemnity specialist Samantha Hanson joins the Birmingham office from Browne Jacobson.

Matrimonial/family law specialist Paula Evans is made up to partner at Scannell Evans in Essex.

In Wales, Cardiff firm M&A Solicitors bolsters its commercial projects team with Deryn Rees from Eversheds.
In the west country, private client partner Martin Follett joins the Exeter office of Michelmores from Truro-based Follett Stock; he has also been appointed registrar of the Exeter Diocese and will continue as registrar with the Truro Diocese.
South Devon firm Kitson Hutchings has brought in Dominic Hollingsworth from Lyons Davidson in Bristol to head up its corporate team.
