Trevor Wood leaves Jones Day to join the banking and capital markets team at Berwin Leighton Paisner.



Project finance specialist Andrew Hart joins US firm Fulbright & Jaworski’s London office in the global energy projects team. He moves from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.



Russell-Cooke promotes Alex Bearman (employment law) and Oliver Chapman (commercial property). The firm now has 44 partners.



Helga Breen joins the employment team at LG from Eversheds, where she was a partner in

the London human resources group.



Moving north, three months after joining the commercial property division at Warwickshire firm Lodders as an associate, Edward Moseley is promoted in the development, investment and secured lending team.



Doncaster firm Taylor Bracewell hires Alison Straw to specialise in high-value ancillary relief and childcare. She was previously at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds, where she was head of the family team.



Three join Yorkshire and Lincolnshire firm Langleys following the merger with York firm Munby & Scott – Fiona Buckton, Mike Shannon and Giles Scott, who specialise in residential and commercial property work.

In the City, Eversheds boosts its pensions team with associate Nick Smith, who moves from Newcastle firm Muckle.



Manmohan Panesar leaves Pinsent Masons to join the corporate finance team at US firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey as an associate.



Irina Tymczyszyn joins the commercial litigation team at the London office of US firm Bryan Cave. She moves from Olswang, where she was a senior associate.



Colemans in Maidenhead expands its commercial property team with the appointment of Brian Regler from Kidd Rapinet in Reading.



Agricultural property specialist Rachel McKillop is promoted to associate at Roythornes in Newmarket.



Associate Mushtaq Khan joins the regeneration development team in HBJ Gateley Wareing’s Birmingham office. He was previously at Cobbetts.



Specialist motoring firm Geoffrey Miller in Manchester bolsters its team by recruiting Donald Maloney as an assistant. He qualified at Morecrofts in Liverpool.



Josie Williams joins niche transport firm Backhouse Jones in Lancashire as an assistant from Berrymans Lace Mawer in Manchester.



Mike Wright leaves Sanders in London to be an associate in the property team at Manchester firm Turner Parkinson.



Stephen Kilshaw joins the commercial litigation team at Harrison Drury after qualifying at the Preston-based firm.



Specialist commercial firm Schofield Sweeney strengthens its projects team in Bradford with the appointment of Graham Shaw from Anthony Collins in Birmingham.



Jonathan James joins the family law team at Grahame Stowe Bateson in Harrogate as an associate. He leaves The Lister Croft Partnership in Leeds.



Regional firm DWF adds seven members to its four offices. In Leeds, associate Sarah Hull (family law) joins from Jones Myers Partnership and Qamar Ayaz (insurance) arrives from Weightmans in Manchester as a senior solicitor. In Liverpool, associate



Lorna Mitchell (corporate) arrives from Allen & Overy and Philip Woolham (pensions) from DLA Piper in Manchester. The Manchester office is boosted by the arrival of two assistants: corporate insolvency specialist Elizabeth Boyes from DLA Piper in London and Paul Stanley (real estate) from Forster Dean in Leigh. Nicola Green (corporate) joins the firm’s Preston office from Keoghs in Bolton.



New practice



Litigation and employment specialist Sandra Garlick leaves Brindley Twist Tafft & James in Coventry to set up her own practice, De Marco Hunter solicitors.



Bar/Bench



Ian Murphy QC, a specialist in personal injury and crime, joins Farrar’s Building. He was previously head of chambers at 9 Park Place in Cardiff.



Patrick David Curran QC is made a circuit judge and assigned to the Wales circuit based at Cardiff Crown Court.
