Kicking off in the City, national firm Halliwells expands its dispute resolution team with the arrival of litigation specialist Damian McPhun from Taylor Wessing, where he was senior associate.



Winckworth Sherwood appoints Neil Morgan as partner in its commercial department. He arrives from Bunzl, where he was in-house counsel.



Matt Jenkin joins Morgan Cole’s Reading office to lead its employment, pensions and benefit team; he arrives from Wiggin in Cheltenham, where he was head of the employment practice. Also, employment specialist Matthew Smith is promoted to partner in the firm’s Cardiff office.



Nottingham firm Berryman hires property expert Andrew Cooper from HBJ Gateley Wareing.



Leeds firm Fox Hayes promotes head of employment Angela Gorton.



Yorkshire firm Jordans makes up four: Lynn Durham (family law and property litigation), Stephen Proctor (head of commercial property), Christine Sands (personal injury) and Sukhbeer Shergill (criminal law). The firm now has 11 partners.



Rosemary Tait joins Beecham Peacock in Newcastle as partner in the personal injury department. She arrives from Browell Smith & Co.

Starting in the south, Emily McIntyre has completed her training contract at Southampton firm Eric Robinson Solicitors. She joins the wills and probate team in its Chandlers Ford office.



Salisbury firm Whitehead Vizard boosts its business and commercial law department with the arrival of solicitor Stephen Kenmir from the Andover office of Barker Son & Isherwood.



City firm Ashby Cohen hires employment specialist Mark Nolan as senior solicitor. He was previously an assistant solicitor at Edwards Duthie.



Anglo-Canadian firm Fasken Martineau Stringer Saul hires mining and environmental law specialist Leonardo Neves as associate. He arrives from Brazilian practice Pinheiro Neto Advogados.



The London office of Faegre & Benson appoints Alex Denny as special counsel and head of its employment group. He was previously at Nabarro, where he was senior associate.



Vicky Raynes qualifies at Essex-based Birkett Long. She joins the firm’s personal tax, trusts and probate team.



Litigation lawyer Kirsten Bridgewater joins the agricultural and rural affairs division at MFG Solicitors in Worcester. She arrives from Blakemore’s Birmingham office, where she completed her training contract.



Assistant solicitor Louise Howard joins the employment team at Black Country firm George Green. She was previously at Lyons Davidson in Solihull.

Yorkshire firm Jordans appoints Simon Lindley, head of criminal law, as senior partner. His predecessor, Robin Bedford, was recently made a district judge.



Regional firm Geldards appoints corporate finance partner Jeff Pearson as chief executive.

Art business Christie’s International appoints Nick Deeming as group general counsel. He was formerly group legal director of the BOC Group.
