Kicking off in the City, Ben Summers is promoted to partner in Peters & Peters’ fraud and regulatory department.



Clyde & Co’s insolvency group recruits Andrew Foster as a partner; he was previously an associate with DLA Piper.



In Manchester, Berrymans Lace Mawer boosts its catastrophic injury team with the recruitment of Andrew Kerr as a partner from Halliwells.



South Yorkshire firm Atteys strengthens its commercial property division with the appointment of Paul Hawkes, who joins the Doncaster office as a partner; he was previously with Ashton Morton Slack in Sheffield.



In the north-east, Swinburne & Jackson make up Katrina Pescott and Joanne Scott in the family law team; Katrina works at the Gateshead head office, and Joanne in the Washington office.



Associates/Assistants



In the City, Amanda McNeil joins Finers Stephens Innocent as head of property litigation; she was previously with US firm Faegre & Benson.



Susan Goddard has merged her Richmond, Surrey, practice, Susan Goddard & Co, with Chiswick-based commercial firm Solnick and will head its commercial property department.



Moving east, in Bury St Edmunds, Anna Mortenson joins Greene & Greene as an assistant solicitor in its commercial property department; she was previously an assistant at Pemberton Greenish in London.



In Cheshire, Poole Alcock hires newly qualified Gavin Brindle as an assistant property solicitor from Ray Borley & Dunkley in Milton Keynes.



In Derbyshire, niche agricultural firm Nigel Davis Solicitors hires Wanda Goodhead as an associate to head its property department; she was previously with BPP in Manchester. Jane Bastin, formerly a property associate with the firm, is promoted to consultant.



Nottingham-based Rothera Dowson recruits three: Ian Stanton joins the wills and pobate team in the West Bridgford office from Robert Barber in Hucknall; Neil Etherington joins the commercial property team in the Nottingham office as an associate from Flint Bishop in Derby; and Aarti Hansrani (family), who was previously with Bryan & Armstrong in Mansfield, joins the Beeston office. Hannah Howe (wills and probate) also joins the Beeston office, having qualified as a solicitor in September.



In the north-east, Crutes has appointed barrister Jane Thomas as a fee-earner to its public sector team in Stockton on Tees; she moves from Berrymans Lace Mawer.



Management



Karen Fong is promoted to managing partner at specialist intellectual property firm Rouse Legal in London. She takes over from Stuart Adams, who is to head the firm’s global dispute resolution team.



In-House



Paul Harley joins the prosecutions team at the Leeds office of the Environment Agency; he was previously head of criminal law at the Max Gold Partnership in Hull.



New Firm



Wendy Robinson, a former senior employment lawyer at City firm Allen & Overy, has joined New York employment lawyer Ramyar Moghadassi – an ex-colleague from Clyde & Co – to form Peregrine Law in London. It will represent US and multinational employers in the UK.



Former senior Crown prosecutor Steven Matthews and Saleem Bukhari, previously of Clarkes Solicitors in Telford, have set up niche claimant personal injury firm Howard Shah Solicitors in Shrewsbury.
