US firm Sullivan & Cromwell makes up six worldwide, including corporate specialist Benjamin Perry in its London office.
The capital markets practice of US/UK firm Jones Day is boosted by the arrival of Andrew Chen from Nomura International plc, where he was a director and head of the debt capital markets legal team.
Competition specialist James Dilley joins the London office of Birmingham firm Martineau Johnson from SJ Berwin.
In the Thames Valley, Pitmans hires two new partners: employment lawyer Richard Devall arrives from H2O Law in London, while Laurence Sheppard joins to start up the firm’s new construction team. He formerly held the same post in the London office of Weightmans.
Darryl Cooke joins Hill Dickinson as partner to head the Manchester corporate team; he was previously head of
private equity in EMEA at DLA Piper.
Leaving Hill Dickinson are partner Andrew Tongue, the former head of insolvency, and associate Paul Warburton, who move to Nexus to set up a corporate and insolvency restructuring department.
David Higgins joins the insolvency team at Manchester firm Turner Parkinson; he was previously at Cobbetts in Leeds, where he set up the bankruptcy practice.

Alex Denny joins the London office of US/UK firm Faegre & Benson as special counsel and head of the employment group; he arrives from Nabarro, where he was a senior associate.
In Bristol, Veale Wasbrough appoints Naseem Nabi as a senior solicitor in its education team; she was previously at Bath firm Stone King.
Howes Percival hires assistant solicitor Jodie Burrows to the commercial litigation team in its Norwich office; she arrives from Family Law Consultancy.
