There have been a couple of articles this week bemoaning the lack of diversity amongst the judiciary.
Call me cynical but this sounds like the Bar realising that if it doesn't get its house in order then (shock horror) the JAC may have to look to the solicitor's profession to make sure the bench is appropriately diverse.
