@1551. The UK defends Irish seaspace and airspace because it has to do so. We do protect them and they have had the vote in the UK since 1922 as well as the right to come here. I have no wish to play hardball with Ireland because that way madness lies. I just wish that they realised the same. We are not stronger when we are borrowed to 86% of GDP and are paying for nice roads in europe while ours crumble. What you mean is that you fear losing some of your valuable money if there is a change and that isn't a good reason not to have our independence. Doing what France and Germany say ( in all cases) while making net contribution is an abusive relationship. You wouldn't tell your sister to stay in one of those because it might be a bit tight financially if she got out, or maybe you would?
