An increase in journey time and cost for magistrates, the police, the accused, victims and victim support, and a huge impact on already over-stretched police resources. Our [central to the region] local court is closing and relocating to a court 8 miles away: travel time by bus (no train service!) 2 hours; and cost, can't afford it. Upside: guaranteed convictions through non-attendance. Well done; pat on the back for "fudging" the numbers.
