How can I as a solicitor either:-

a) act in accordance with the Human Rights act, or any UN charter; or,
b) fail to act in accordance with the Human Rights act, or any UN charter?

Answers on a postcard, from a highly paid Quangocrat with nose in trough.

Let's remind ourselves of the ECHR and put it into practice, shall we?

I know, article 2, Right to LIfe. Ok you've got me there! I'll have to stop killing people. Thanks Law Society / SRA, you've shown me the right parth!

Or what about article 1, protocol 1. I know, I know, it's tempting to use governmental force to misappropriate private property, but we'll all have to stop.

How's about Article 6, right to a fair determination in civil proceedings. We will have to start putting justice in the individual case above unnecessary and pointless procedural irrelevancies. Oh wait, hang on, what's that you say "Mitchell/Jackson"?....

All absolute tosh.

I have an idea. Tree hugging, mung-bean eating, limp-wristed trustafarians, sitting in Universities doing trendy courses using mummy and daddy's money from the sale of the Yacht, dictating to all and sundry about respect for human right and diversity of equality of opportunity, etc., should be required, henceforth, to ply their trade overseas.

Why not, they could help "engender share respect for cultural heritage" and "envision empowerment and reduce divisiveness".

I would suggest Iran maybe a good place to start. Perhaps Syria. The Afghans may appreciate being lectured on Human Rights.

Ta very muchly.
