The thing I have found most concerning about this story is that some interviewees on a radio show commentated that they had lied on their divorce petition to circumvent the 2-year rule, with (alleged) with legal commentators confirming that to be true.

The divorce petition contains a statement of truth, does it not? They must be desperate if they are willing to commit contempt of court. The sooner the timescales are changed the better.

Presumably, no one is recommending anything less than 9 months or a year?
