Well the writing is on the wall so we may as well as a profession or what will be left of it prepare for the inevitable .

The lack of confidence and down right hostiltly to the SRA is rife, but let us not forget it was the appaling failure of the Law Society and some corrupt practices by the Law Society failing to investigate the rotten apples that led to the creation of the SRA.

Judging by the large and increasing scale of the compensation fund payments the SRA are failing in their duty to root out the tiny minority of incompetent and corrupt solicitors that no decent solicitor wants in the profession. This is made worse by the apparent failure of the SRA to take effective action when given ample warning and evidence of corrupt practice.

My lack of confidence in our so called proffesional body is no doubt apparent for causeing the destruction of our once noble and respected profession.

Let us prepare and hope there may be genuine competition to the SRA that compertent and honest solictors can join.

I doubt very much if the SRA would last long from genuine compertition.
