I am torn. Yes, the legal system should represent the faith and yet it currently doesn't so I wonder whether this pageantry is anything more than a show, a chance for Judges and legal professionals to perform the act of suggesting that the government is still following a strictly Christian doctrine, something so challenging to do now that society has become considerably more pluralistic, which is a problem in itself.

I don't suggest that we disregard the faith, despite views a secular legal system may seem more logical in a majority secular or otherwise state. I suggest we continue to look towards the Bible for support, obviously, but consider that without a firm focus on implementing the faith in the legal system, both Christianity and the British legal system is undermined by these performances which pretend that everything is working as it should.
