The quote commonly attributed to Henry Ford comes to mind: "If I'd asked people what they wanted, they'd have said a faster horse". Progress, the relentless onslaught of technology and deregulation (see also Prof. Stephen Mayson's recent paper Restoring a Future for Law) dictate that the conveyancing process will change radically over the coming years. If the legal profession doesn't lead the way in shaping change, it will be edged out. So if this initiative isn't the answer, what is?
