Richard, thanks for that. My impression is that every MP wants to be PM. The amount of ambition and effort required to get there in the first place bears witness to that. I told Ian Lucas MP (Labour Wrexham) that if he would agree to restoring the legal aid cuts introduced by Lord Mackay I would vote for him. "There are no votes in saying you are going to pay lawyers more money, David". That sums up how they think. They are only interested in votes. They cease to be interested in anything or anyone else.

There are people in Somerset who have been up to their waists in water, surface and foul, for over a month now. There are solicitors who have been put out of business due to Labour's misconceived s. 37 Solicitors Act 1974. The NHS, schools, local authorities, fire services, ambulance services, police, all have had to take their share of cuts due to 13 years of Labour profligacy. Why should any group of people funded by the state not have to take their fair share of the cost of clearing Labour's financial black hole? The ones who should be blamed are Blair, Brown, Balls, Byrne and Darling, although the last was dealt a lousy hand with no trumps.
