I quite agree, Stephen, but I believe LS is determined that its new baby, the ABS, must not be allowed to die, but kept alive at any cost. Why, for example, is it allowing Co-op to carry on whilst making a loss of £22m, when a high street practice would be closed down. How is such inequality of treatment to be rectified? Comparing such a practice with Co-op is like comparing apples with pears. The same regime simply cannot be applied to both. The whole project needs to be rethought. Come to think of it having massive City practices governed by the same rules as a sole practitioner in Llandudno also seems rather strained, but it sort of seems to work, or rather we have learned to live with its shortcomings. Perhaps that is because we all trained together and then went our separate ways. ABSs are like a banker deciding to become a solicitor at age 50 whilst running a hotel. They have a completely different mindset plus other interests not requiring the same ethical standards.
