It does make me sick to read about the SRA's pathetic approach to this organisation CLS. I and my family have cut down our expenditure massively since running a Solicitor's practice became so much less profitable some years ago due in part to organisations like the Co-op suddenly deciding to remove SPs from their conveyancing panels as apparently they couldn't get insurance to cover the high risk of fraud we pose. So far as I know, this reason (that we pose a greater risk of fraud) has never been proved or justified. And yet they can't manage their own legal business! We've had to learn to live on very little indeed and as a result my firm poses no risk to the compensation fund. Those who run the SRA need to be sacked to allow mainstream Solicitors to be exposed to so much risk from these untried untested organisations. Or better still, the whole SRA should be disappeared.
