If it were the case that HMG had it in for lawyers, as most of these posts imply, why is it cutting every other public service it can? The armed forces, police, prisons, the courts, health, education, local authorities, most publicly funded activities in fact have had to take their share to some extent. And why? Because New Labour spent and spent and spent, as Labour always does, until the money ran out.

Here in N Wales the coastguard service has been cut. In time people will lose their lives as a result. What would you prefer, your money or your life?

"Get a life" as they say in some parts.
