You dismiss another poster's comments with a lofty "this is a civil case not criminal". Well you are wrong, it was a family case in the Family Court done under the FPR.

But isn't the essence this - the state are wanting to permanently remove a child from its natural family. Doesn't the state then owe it to the family to ensure they understand the reasons this most draconian step is being taken? As a simple matter of decency and humanity? And if that involves paying for an interpreter isn't that part of the price we all, as part of the state, pay for our intrusion into family life?

I expect you'll come back with some bravura "no", in which case, I know which pigeon hole to put you in. Oh and good luck if you ever wind up in a criminal or other court wanting a lawyer to interpret the law for you, because your logic is what is encouraging this government to rob people of that simple right too.
