This french law was drafted and enacted with the expressed intent of criminalising muslim women who chose to wear a burka in public. How is that not a breach of human rights.

I'm deeply disappointed at the comments here. We have a large muslim community in the UK. What are they to make of the legal profession after reading these comments, because they will. I'd always thought the requirement to have an equality and diversity officer was absurd because we're educated people who would be above the irrational nonsense of bigotry. Now I know that's not true and many of us are seething closet racists.

If any potential muslim client is reading these comments and would like to instruct a white english solicitor who will treat them with respect and dignity, as equals and fellow human beings, then look me up on the Law Society "find a solicitor" website. I promise I will give you the same service I would give my family.
