The greedy PI lawyers have only themselves to blame for all this, a classic example of killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

The whiplash industry was (an probably still is) characterised by corruption and exploitation. It was often the solicitors running the claims who owned the agencies that provided the medical reports and the credit hire firms that were / are ripping off the insurers. I was a victim of this myself, with a £40k bill for a 3 month hire.

And the doctors who jumped on the bandwagon were just part of the scam, more so-called `professionals' selling their souls and their signatures on standard form word-processed reports for a few pieces of silver.

I've no doubt there are plenty of honest and hard working PI lawyers, but by failing to protest at what was going on they've let their bent colleagues ruin what used to be a professional activity and turn it into an institutionalised fraud.
